  1. Q:  What influence has McLuhan had on you? Was 
  2. there a flash when you realized the importance 
  3. this man would have in your life or in the work that 
  4. you would do?

  6. A:  Yes, the influence of McLuhan on me, and I am 
  7. saying on me, not just my work, was pretty 
  8. radical. Very strong, and very continuous. And it 
  9. happened in stages, deepening stages. The first 
  10. time was just coming into his room for the first 
  11. class and being astounded at the completely 
  12. different sound I was hearing here; the completely 
  13. different kind of teaching I was getting here. 
  14. Teaching‚ÄîI am not even sure if the word applied.
